DIY Nourishing Body Butter Recipe

Here’s what you’ll need to create your own silky-smooth body butter:

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup shea butter
  • ¼ cup cocoa butter
  • ¼ cup sweet almond oil (or try avocado oil for deeper hydration)
  • 1 tbsp jojoba oil (or rosehip oil for added skin benefits)
  • 10-12 drops of your favorite essential oil (we recommend lavender, lemongrass, or a blend!)

Instructions:

  1. Melt the butters – In a double boiler or microwave (in short bursts), gently melt the shea butter and cocoa butter together, stirring occasionally.
  2. Mix in the oils – Remove from heat and stir in your sweet almond oil (or avocado oil) and jojoba oil (or rosehip oil).
  3. Add essential oils – Let the mixture cool slightly before adding your essential oil(s).
  4. Whip it up – Chill the mixture in the fridge until it’s firm but not fully solid, then whip it with a hand mixer until light and fluffy.
  5. Store and enjoy – Scoop the body butter into a glass jar and store in a cool, dry place. Apply as needed for soft, hydrated skin!
